Sunday Forums return in September. We kick off the year with Rose Mabwa, Executive Director of Kidz Express and Good Shepherd member.

Kidz Express was founded by Good Shepherd’s Duane Ehresman and Warren King, in coordination with Austin-Messiah Lutheran Church in Chicago. Others from Good Shepherd who were involved with Kidz Express in its early years were Kate King, Lynn Railsback, Patty Jurczak, Barb and Jim Hunt, Chic Wittenberg, Bob and Joan Pope, and Rose Mabwa. Kidz Express initially utilized Good Shepherd’s basement for programming. It moved to its first building on South Laramie Ave. in Chicago’s Austin community in 2005 and was directed by Doug Low for a number of years. Kidz Express is currently located at 5221 West Congress Parkway. Rose Mabwa began serving as its executive director following the Covid-19 pandemic.
