Our Lenten Journey

Strangers in a Strange Land

Strong parallels exist between our spiritual journeys and the refugee experience.  We are led or driven into the wilderness--whether desert or water--forced to shed our closely-held possessions or beliefs along the way, in search of a new life and new home.  We become strangers in a strange land, in this world but not of it. Relationship Commitment Sunday

Sunday, February 14, 2016 - 8:00am - 10:30am

During worship on February 14th, we will bless couples who are celebrating an anniversary anytime during 2016 which is divisible by 5 (5th, 10th, 15th, 20th ...).  Those who attend worship will be honored with recognition and a small token of our joy in your commitment.

This year, we would like to include a short note from each couple:  How did you meet?  What is your advice for long-term happiness?  How have you grown as a person by your experience together?  What strength have you gained from your partnership? Read more »

Ash Wednesday Worship & Meal

Wednesday, February 10, 2016 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Lent begins on February 10 with Ash Wednesday.  Join us for a simple meal in Fellowship Hall at 6:30pm to acknowledge the beginning of Lent.  Because Ash Wednesday is often a day of fasting, we will serve a meal similar to what the more than 3 billion people who live on less than $2 a day consume.

At 7:30pm we will hold a traditional Ash Wednesday service in the sanctuary, including imposition of ashes and communion.  All are welcome!

Jazz Prayer: Songs for Saints & Sinners

Friday, January 15, 2016 - 7:30pm - 8:30pm

Shining a Light on Justice— Join us for lively jazz intertwined with readings and prayer. This gathering is designed to be meaningful and comfortable for people who consider themselves "spiritual but not religious” and for people who love jazz music performed well.  You'll encounter an hour of music like this. All are welcome. Come early to enjoy community over light refreshments. Third Friday of every month at 7:30 pm.
