Confirmation

Is it possible to have fun while learning? Can confirmation be about heart knowledge as well as head knowlege? We think so! Read on to learn more . . .

The Confirmation program at Good Shepherd is for students in 7th and 8th grades. We use the Head to the Heart program created by Faith Inkubators, which focuses on serving, learning and having fun. Confirmation classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30—8:00pm during the school year. Sunday worship attendance and Sunday morning education are also key parts of our program. Students are confirmed in the fall of their freshman year.

Contact Info:For more information about Confirmation, contact Deaconess Debbie Rank, Director of Christian Education at ChristianEd@goodshepherdlc.org or call 708-848-4741.

Educational Opportunities on Sunday morning

SUNDAY SCHOOL is for children ages 2 through 6th grade. It begins in the sanctuary at 9:15 with music and then breaks into age group classes for rotations that go along with the Bible story of the week.

MIDDLE SCHOOLERS (7th/8th grade) meet on Sunday mornings as part of the Confirmation program. They also meet for Confirmation on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:30pm.

TEENS meet on the *Second Sunday* for lunch after the 10:30am worship service.

ADULTS:
1. Sunday Morning Bible Study meets in the Library at 9:15am for readings, on-the-spot research, stimulating discussion and good fellowship. No previous Bible-study background required. No homework!

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study

Sunday Morning Bible Study is studying the Gospel of Matthew. This group has met most Sundays, September through May, since 1994, and just a year ago made the transition from Old Testament to New Testament.

Sunday morning Bible Study is open to members and visitors of all ages. The atmosphere is seminar style, with participants seated around a large table. Join us any Sunday at 9:15 a.m., in the library, adjacent to Fellowship Hall. No prerequisites, no homework -- and newcomers are most welcome!

Wednesday Adult Bible Study

Retired pastor Jim Scherer leads a midweek Bible study each Wednesday from September through May at 10am. Meet for one hour in the church kitchen.
