Women's Retreat

Choosing Simplicity is the theme of our 2017 Women's Retreat. We'll be meeting on Jan 27/28 at Techny Towers Retreat Center in Techny, IL (near Northbrook). Retreaters can stay overnight, or attend on Saturday only. Our retreat time will be spent in small and large group conversation, quiet space for reflecting, informal gathering time and shared meals.

Costs are $140 for overnight in a single room; $100 for overnight in a double room; $40 for Saturday only. Pick up a brochure for additional information and registration form. Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study

Sunday Morning Bible Study will be focusing on the Old Testament prophets this fall. This group has met most Sundays, September through May, since 1994, and is always open to members and visitors of all ages.

The atmosphere is seminar style, with participants seated around a large table. Join us any Sunday at 9:15 a.m., in the library, adjacent to Fellowship Hall. No prerequisites, no homework -- and newcomers are most welcome! Read more »

Educational Opportunities on Sunday morning

SUNDAY SCHOOL is for children ages 2 through 6th grade. Ages 2 through 4th grade begin in the sanctuary at 9:15 with music and then breaks into age group classes for rotations that go along with the Bible story of the week. 5th and 6th graders have class in the Youngman Room using the Connect curriculum from Sparkhouse.

MIDDLE SCHOOLERS (7th/8th grade) meet on Sunday mornings as part of the Confirmation program.

TEENS meet on Sundays at 9:15am for our Youth Connections class and monthly for lunch after the 10:30am worship service.

ADULTS:
1. Sunday Morning Bible Study meets in the Library at 9:15am for readings, on-the-spot research, stimulating discussion and good fellowship. No previous Bible-study background required. No homework! Read more »

Confirmation (Middle School):
The Confirmation program at Good Shepherd is for students in 7th and 8th grade. Confirmation classes are held on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15am during the school year. Sunday worship attendance and monthly student gatherings round out our program. Students are confirmed in the fall of their freshman year. brake for Breakfast

When can a simple warm cup of coffee and healthy muffin become an instrument of peace? When they are given to a high school student racing by after sleeping too long on a late start Wednesday. You can be a part of that transforming wholeness by donating drinks or breakfast treats. If you have time, you can take time to connect with students. January 25th & February 1st.

Is it possible to have fun while learning? Can confirmation be about heart knowledge as well as head knowledge? We think so! Read on to learn more . . .

The Confirmation program at Good Shepherd is for students in 7th and 8th grades. Our program focuses on serving, learning and having fun. Confirmation classes are held on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15am during the school year. In addition, students attend a monthly Group Learning for more in-depth sharing and a monthly Fun or Serving Event. Students are confirmed in the fall of their freshman year.
